Chronic knee pain throughout my 10-year basketball career left me dreading every single game and practice. Despite having the "potential" to play at the next level, the constant pain drained every drop of passion out of me until I eventually stopped in 2019.
In 2021, I turned my room into a home gym because I was obsessed with figuring out how to get rid of my knee issues. A few months later, with the help of Instagram and YouTube, I had solved the same knee pain that various PTs and strength coaches could not. The mystical solution that somehow evaded the minds of several professionals was: LOADING MY FREAKING KNEE (in this case, my patella tendon specifically.)
- "Was it really this simple all along?
- "How didn't I know about this sooner?
- "Where would I be if my 15-year-old self knew this?"
- "How can I make sure kids like me don't go through this preventable obstacle?"

Ever since then, my purpose in life changed from just getting better at basketball, to helping young athletes not experience the preventable obstacles that I had to face.
We've never asked the human body to do more than what we're asking of it today with sports and athletic events. We have outpaced evolution in this way, meaning our bodies aren't naturally equipped to handle this amount of activity. But, lucky for us, we can significantly adapt our bodies so they can handle the immense forces of sports and athletics. Our body gets exponentially less adaptable the older we get, so it's crucial for athletes to build their bodies during childhood to greatly increase their chances of being pain-free during and after sports.
